Is Chipotle Open on Christmas? No, Here Is Your Plan (2026)
No. Chipotle is closed on Christmas Day (December 25) at all locations nationwide, one of only two days it closes all year (the other is Thanksgiving). On Christmas Eve, most locations open normally at 10:45 AM but close early, typically between 6:00 and 8:00 PM. Normal hours resume December 26.
Why Christmas Is Different
Chipotle stays open on almost every holiday, Easter, July 4th, Labor Day, you name it. Christmas and Thanksgiving are the two exceptions: company-wide closures so restaurant teams get the day with their families. Because Chipotle owns its restaurants rather than franchising, the closure is genuinely universal, there is no “maybe my local one is open” wiggle room the way there is with franchised chains.

Your Christmas Chipotle Plan
- Craving on the 25th: it will have to wait for December 26, or try a homemade fix from our copycat recipes, the barbacoa slow-cooks while presents get opened.
- Christmas Eve run: order by mid-afternoon; the 4 to 6 PM window gets cut off at early-closing stores. Check your store in the app first.
- Feeding the family Dec 23 or 24: a catering order placed a day ahead beats cooking, but note catering is unavailable Dec 25.

Methodology
Holiday status reflects Chipotle standard operating pattern, closed company-wide only on Thanksgiving and Christmas, verified against the official store locator, app, and newsroom announcements as of October 2026. Individual locations (malls, airports, campuses) follow venue hours and can differ; confirm your restaurant in the app before visiting.
