Chipotle Online Menu: What You Can Only Get Digitally

The Chipotle online menu is not simply the in-store menu on a screen. Several items exist only there, and the quesadilla is the one people discover the hard way by asking for it at the counter and being told no. Chipotle states this on its own app listing: there are menu items you can only get in-app or online. Here is what those are.

Quick Answer

The Chipotle online menu includes digital-only items you cannot order at the counter. The hand-crafted quesadilla is online-only — Chipotle own page says so plainly. Family Meals, which serve four to six, are orderable exclusively through the app or website. Group ordering and Chipotlane pickup are also digital-only features.

🎯 Key Takeaways
  • The quesadilla is online-only and has been since launch.
  • Family Meals are app and website exclusive, serving 4 to 6.
  • Chipotle says it directly: items you can only get in-app or online.
  • Digital promos are often digital-only too, excluding partner apps.
  • Chipotlane pickup requires a digital order — no ordering at the window.
  • Digital was 38.3% of food and beverage revenue in Q2 2026.

What Is Online Only

Chipotle makes the claim itself on its app listing: there are tasty menu items you can only get in-app or online. In practice the digital-exclusive list is short but genuinely useful.

Item or feature Status
Hand-crafted quesadilla Online only, for pickup and delivery
Fajita quesadilla Launched digital-only
Family Meals (serves 4 to 6) Orderable exclusively via app or website
Group ordering, up to 15 meals Digital feature
Chipotlane pickup Requires a digital order
Rewards points and promo codes Digital channel only

Worth noting what is not on this list. Burritos by the Box is a catering item with a 24-hour notice requirement rather than an online-only menu item, and Chipotle publishes nothing saying large chips or large dips are digital exclusives, so we are not going to claim it.

The Quesadilla

This is the one that catches people out at the counter. Chipotle own quesadilla page carries the headline plainly: hand-crafted quesadilla, only available online, for pickup and delivery.

It has been digital since launch, and the fajita quesadilla that followed launched digital-only as well. Chipotle September 2026 National Quesadilla Day announcement described quesadillas as digitally exclusive, so the status has not quietly changed.

You can still eat it in the restaurant. Online-only means ordered online, not collected elsewhere. Order it in the app, pick it up at the shelf, the walk-up window or a Chipotlane, and eat it there if you like. The one thing you cannot do is ask for one at the register.

Prices and build options are on our quesadilla price guide, calories on our quesadilla calories page, and the ordering steps on our how to order a quesadilla guide.

Family Meals

Chipotle answer to how you order one is unambiguous: Family Meals can be ordered exclusively through the Chipotle app or website. Choose Family Meals from the menu, customise the spread, and select pickup or delivery.

The official specification:

  • Serves four to six people, at less than $10 a person.
  • Ready in as little as 15 minutes — no advance notice needed.
  • Includes one protein, white or brown rice, black or pinto beans, shredded cheese, romaine, up to three large sides, a large guacamole or large queso, ten soft flour tortillas and one large tortilla chips.
  • Only one Family Meal per order — the app enforces this.

This product was previously branded Build Your Own Chipotle, which is why you will still see both names in circulation. It is the same thing, and it is distinct from catering, which serves 6 to 200 people from $8.25 per person and needs 24 hours notice. Full detail on our family meal guide.

Digital-Only Offers

The pattern is consistent enough to plan around: Chipotle best promotions run through its own digital channel and frequently exclude partner platforms.

Its 2026 National Quesadilla Day offer ran for two days in late September, required a promo code and a minimum spend, and was valid only through the Chipotle app, chipotle.com and chipotle.ca. Not in-restaurant, and not on third-party platforms.

If you order mainly through DoorDash or Uber Eats, that is the cost: you miss the code-based offers and you earn no Chipotle Rewards points. Current codes are on our promo codes page, app-specific ones on our app promo codes page, and the points programme on our rewards guide.

One Pricing Catch

The online menu is not priced the same in both directions, and this is the detail most guides miss.

  • Choose pickup and you pay normal menu prices.
  • Choose delivery and Chipotle applies higher menu prices plus fees — its own checkout states this, on its own app, not just on partner apps.

So the identical digital order costs meaningfully more if you switch the fulfilment method. If you want a quesadilla or a Family Meal at the best price, order it online and collect it. Our pickup guide covers the four collection modes and our delivery fees guide covers what gets added.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is on the Chipotle online menu that is not in store?

The hand-crafted quesadilla is the main one — Chipotle own quesadilla page states it is only available online, for pickup and delivery. Family Meals, which serve four to six people, are also orderable exclusively through the app or website. Group ordering and Chipotlane pickup are digital-only features rather than menu items.

Why can you only get a Chipotle quesadilla online?

Chipotle has kept the quesadilla digital since it launched, and its own page describes it as only available online, for pickup and delivery. Its September 2026 National Quesadilla Day release called quesadillas digitally exclusive. Chipotle has not published its operational reasoning, but the item is made differently from the standard line build.

Can I order a quesadilla at the Chipotle counter?

No. The quesadilla is an online item, so it has to be ordered through the Chipotle app or chipotle.com for pickup or delivery. You can collect it in the restaurant, including at a Chipotlane or pickup shelf, but you cannot ask for one at the register.

What are Chipotle Family Meals?

A package serving four to six people for less than $10 a person, ready in as little as 15 minutes, which Chipotle says can be ordered exclusively through its app or website. It was previously branded Build Your Own Chipotle. It includes a protein, rice, beans, cheese, romaine, up to three large sides, a large guacamole or queso, ten soft flour tortillas and one large tortilla chips.

Is the Chipotle online menu more expensive?

For pickup, no — the menu is at normal prices. For delivery, yes. Chipotle own checkout states that menu pricing for delivery is higher and that fees apply, and this is true on its own app as well as on partner platforms. So the same online menu is priced differently depending on whether you choose pickup or delivery.

Are digital-only items available on DoorDash or Uber Eats?

Not reliably, and Chipotle digital promotions frequently exclude partner platforms outright. Its 2026 National Quesadilla Day offer was valid only through the Chipotle app, chipotle.com and chipotle.ca, and explicitly not on third-party platforms. Order through Chipotle own channel if a digital item or offer is what you are after.

Methodology

Ordering options, fees, pickup modes and app behaviour on this page are taken from Chipotle own ordering website and app, Chipotle published FAQs, Chipotle press releases and Chipotle SEC filings, all checked in October 2026. Where Chipotle current app wording contradicts an older published FAQ, the newer app wording is used and the discrepancy is noted. Chipotle does not publish delivery fee amounts or a refund policy, so this page says so rather than repeating third-party figures. Fees, menu pricing and availability vary by location and partner and change without notice.
