Chipotle Veterans Day 2026: Free Chips and Dip
Chipotle Veterans Day 2026 is not the offer it was last year, and that matters if you are planning around it. The buy-one-get-one entree deal has gone. In its place, active-duty service members and veterans get free chips and a dip of their choice with a five dollar purchase, and it runs all day rather than for four hours in the evening. Here are the full rules, including the identification Chipotle will accept.

On Wednesday 11 November 2026, active-duty U.S. service members and veterans with valid proof of eligibility can get free chips and their choice of dip with a $5 in-restaurant purchase. It runs all day, not 4pm to 8pm as in 2025, and it replaces the previous buy-one-get-one entree offer. In-restaurant only — no app, online or delivery orders.
- All day on Wednesday 11 November 2026, during business hours.
- Free chips and dip with a $5 in-restaurant purchase.
- The BOGO entree offer has been replaced — this is a new mechanic.
- Choose classic or Chili Lime chips, plus guac, queso or salsa.
- Four forms of ID are accepted, not just a military ID card.
- In-restaurant only — not valid on app, online, delivery or catering.

What Changed From Last Year
If you remember the Veterans Day deal as a free entree, you are remembering 2025. The mechanic is different this year, and it is worth seeing the two side by side.
| 2025 | 2026 | |
|---|---|---|
| What was free | A second entree | Chips and a dip |
| To qualify | Buy an entree | Spend $5 |
| Hours | 4pm to 8pm | All day |

Identification Chipotle Accepts
This is the part most guides get wrong by listing only a military ID card. Chipotle accepts any one of four forms:
- A valid military ID
- A VA-issued veteran ID or health ID
- A state-issued ID carrying a Veteran designation
- Discharge paperwork
Two conditions attach to it. The ID must be shown at checkout, not claimed afterwards. And the offer can only be collected by the person holding the government-issued military ID — you cannot send someone else with your card.
That third option matters more than it looks: a state driver licence with a Veteran designation is the document most veterans actually carry day to day, and it qualifies.
The Full Terms
Stated as Chipotle states them, because the detail is where people get caught out:
- Valid only on Wednesday 11 November 2026, during business hours.
- Requires a purchase of at least $5, not including the free item, taxes or tips.
- Valid for one free regular-size Chili Lime Chips or standard chips, plus a choice of dip.
- Redeemable in-restaurant only, at participating U.S. locations. Redemption is subject to availability.
- Not valid for catering, mobile, online or delivery orders.
- Purchased items are eligible for Chipotle Rewards points.
- May not be combined with other coupons, promotions or special offers.
- Additional restrictions may apply; void where prohibited.
Redeeming It Smoothly
- Order at the counter, not in the app. This is the single most common mistake — a mobile or online order does not qualify, and it cannot be fixed at the till afterwards.
- Have the ID out before you reach the register. It has to be presented at checkout.
- Check your spend clears $5 before the free item, tax and tip. A single taco or a drink alone may not get you there; a bowl or burrito comfortably will.
- Scan your Rewards account anyway. What you pay for still earns points, so there is no reason not to. Our rewards guide covers it.
- Go when you like. With the evening window gone, the quiet mid-afternoon stretch between the lunch and dinner peaks is the easy run.
- Decide your dip first. Guacamole is the premium choice and normally carries an upcharge, so it is the highest-value pick of the three.
Chipotle and the Military Community
The offer sits alongside a set of longer-running commitments, several of which are more substantial than the Veterans Day promotion itself.
- More than 800 veterans employed across Chipotle restaurants and its Restaurant Support Centers.
- Hiring-manager training designed to attract, assess and retain veterans, military spouses and partners, including interview practices and resources on the transferable skills veterans bring.
- The Chipotle Veterans & Allies Network, established this year as an employee resource group for veterans, active-duty service members and military families.
- Folds of Honor, a partnership running since 2021 that funds educational scholarships for the spouses and children of fallen or disabled service members and first responders. Chipotle reports more than $2.4 million raised.
- The USO, supported through Chipotle Round Up for Real Change programme from Monday 9 November to Sunday 15 November 2026, where guests can round their total up to the next dollar to donate.
If you are a veteran considering working there rather than eating there, Chipotle promotion structure is unusually documented — more than 85 percent of its restaurant managers started as crew. Our jobs hub and benefits guide cover the detail, including tuition assistance that extends to part-time crew.
Other Ways to Save
Chipotle does not run an everyday military discount, so outside 11 November these are the routes that work:
- Chipotle Rewards — points on every qualifying purchase, plus member-only offers. See our rewards guide.
- Promo codes — Chipotle runs code-based offers regularly, almost always digital-only. Current ones are on our promo codes page.
- BOGO events — Chipotle runs several a year, often tied to sports and seasonal moments. Tracked on our BOGO deals guide.
- Free chips and dip offers — this is not the only one. Chipotle ran a chips and Queso Blanco offer for National Tortilla Chip Day in February 2026.
- Group ordering — a Family Meal feeds four to six for under $10 a head, which beats individual orders on value.
For everything Chipotle has running right now, including the Halloween Boorito offer, see our news and menu updates page. Other dated events are on our events hub.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Chipotle Veterans Day 2026 offer?
On Wednesday 11 November 2026, active-duty U.S. service members and veterans with valid proof of eligibility can receive free chips and their choice of dip with a $5 in-restaurant purchase. You can choose Chipotle’s classic chips or its new Chili Lime Chips, and guacamole, Queso Blanco or salsa as the dip.
Is Chipotle still doing the BOGO entree on Veterans Day?
No. The buy-one-get-one free entree offer Chipotle ran in 2025 has been replaced for 2026 with free chips and dip on a $5 purchase. The trade-off is that the new offer runs all day rather than only from 4pm to 8pm, and it needs a smaller spend to qualify, but it is worth considerably less per redemption.
What time does the Chipotle Veterans Day deal run?
All day on Wednesday 11 November 2026, during normal business hours at participating U.S. restaurants. That is a change from 2025, when the offer was limited to 4pm until 8pm local time, so there is no need to plan around an evening window this year.
What ID do you need for the Chipotle Veterans Day offer?
Chipotle accepts any one of four forms: a valid military ID, a VA-issued veteran ID or health ID, a state-issued ID carrying a Veteran designation, or discharge paperwork. It must be shown at checkout, and the offer can only be collected by the person holding the government-issued military ID.
Can I get the Chipotle Veterans Day deal on the app or delivery?
No. The offer is redeemable in-restaurant only and is not valid for catering, mobile, online or delivery orders. You do still earn Chipotle Rewards points on the items you pay for, so scanning your Rewards account at the register is worth doing.
Does the $5 purchase include the free chips?
No. The $5 minimum is calculated on what you buy, excluding the free item, taxes and tips. So a $5 qualifying purchase means $5 of food or drink before the free chips and dip are added, and before tax.
Can I combine the Veterans Day offer with another deal?
No. Chipotle states the offer may not be combined with other coupons, promotions or special offers. It is one free regular-size chips and one dip, per eligible person, redeemable only on 11 November 2026 and subject to availability at participating locations.
Methodology
The 2026 offer details on this page were provided directly to us by Chipotle external communications in October 2026, ahead of Chipotle own announcement dated 5 October 2026, and are reproduced here in summary with the offer terms stated as Chipotle stated them. Figures on Chipotle veteran employment, the Folds of Honor and USO partnerships and the Round Up for Real Change programme come from the same source. Comparison with the 2025 offer reflects what Chipotle ran that year. We are an independent guide, not a Chipotle representative: offers vary by location, are subject to availability and can change, so confirm with your restaurant on the day.
