Chipotle Delivery: Every Option Compared
Chipotle delivery has one detail almost every guide gets wrong, and it costs you money. Ordering through Chipotle own app does not get you in-store menu prices. Chipotle own checkout says so in plain words: menu pricing for delivery is higher and fees apply. That single line changes how you should think about every option below.

Yes, Chipotle delivers. You can order through Chipotle own app or website, which is fulfilled by DoorDash, or through DoorDash, Uber Eats, Postmates or Grubhub directly. Menu prices are higher on delivery through Chipotle own channel too — its checkout states this — so the choice is about fees and support, not about avoiding a markup.
- Chipotle own app delivery is fulfilled by DoorDash.
- Partner apps: DoorDash, Uber Eats, Postmates and Grubhub.
- Menu prices are higher on delivery — Chipotle says so in checkout.
- Order through Chipotle and Chipotle support can help you.
- Order through a partner and you must contact that partner.
- Delivery was over 16% of Chipotle 2025 food and beverage revenue.
The Two Ways to Order
Chipotle delivery splits into exactly two routes, and the difference matters more for support than for price.
1. Chipotle own app or website
You order at chipotle.com or in the Chipotle app, and Chipotle arranges the delivery. Its own delivery FAQ states that it partners with DoorDash delivery team to fulfil those orders, and the checkout page confirms it by telling you your phone number will be shared with the DoorDash driver who brings your food.
So a DoorDash driver delivers it either way. What differs is who holds the order.
2. A partner marketplace
Chipotle officially names four: DoorDash, Uber Eats, Postmates and Grubhub. You order inside that app, and that company holds the order, the payment and the support relationship.
The Markup Nobody Mentions
Here is the part worth reading twice. Chipotle own ordering screens tell you, before you pay:
- At the address step: menu pricing for delivery is higher and fees apply.
- In the bag: delivery includes higher menu prices and additional fees to help offset the costs of delivery.
That is Chipotle describing its own channel, not a partner app. An older Chipotle FAQ still says your burrito should cost the same as it does on a non-delivery order. The live checkout wording is newer and is the one that governs what you are charged.
Chipotle has also acknowledged the third-party side in its annual report, noting that the delivery fee it collects from a guest may be less than the actual delivery cost, and that raising menu prices on third-party platforms to cover higher delivery fees risks making it less competitive on those platforms.
Which Channel to Use
| Situation | Order through | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You want Rewards points | Chipotle app | Partner orders do not earn Chipotle Rewards |
| You want Chipotle to fix problems | Chipotle app | Partner orders are handled by the partner |
| You want a digital-only item | Chipotle app | Quesadillas and Family Meals are app and web only |
| You have a partner subscription | That partner | Their fee benefits apply on their platform |
| Chipotle shows no delivery at your address | A partner | Coverage differs between channels |
| You want the lowest total | Check both | Neither is reliably cheaper; compare the total |
The Rewards row is the clearest advantage of the first-party route. Chipotle Rewards only applies to Chipotle own channels, and our rewards guide covers what that earns you. Digital-only items are on our online menu guide.
Who Fixes a Problem
This is the single most useful thing to know before you order, because it decides who you can even talk to.
- Ordered on chipotle.com or the app? Chipotle customer service handles it. Chat with Pepper on its contact page or call 1-800-CHIPOTLE.
- Ordered on DoorDash, Uber Eats, Postmates or Grubhub? Chipotle directs you to contact that partner directly for help with the order.
Chipotle wording on a wrong first-party order is refreshingly direct — it calls it its own fault and points you to customer service. On a partner order it has no access to fix anything. If order problems have cost you before, that alone is an argument for the first-party route. See our refund guide for what happens next.
What Delivery Cannot Do
Three hard limits, all official:
- No modifications after you submit. Chipotle states it cannot accept changes to a delivery order once submitted, and that its delivery partners have the same policy.
- There is a minimum. Chipotle checkout rejects small orders with a message giving the minimum subtotal for delivery. The amount is set per order and is not published.
- Rewards does not cover the fees. Chipotle Rewards terms exclude delivery fees, bag fees, service fees and convenience fees from qualifying spend, so those do not earn points.
Cancelling is possible within a short window in the app, which our cancellation guide covers in detail. Fee structure is on our delivery fees page, tracking on our order tracking guide, and the no-delivery alternatives on our pickup guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Chipotle deliver?
Yes. You can order delivery through Chipotle own app or website, which Chipotle fulfils in partnership with DoorDash drivers, or you can order through DoorDash, Uber Eats, Postmates or Grubhub directly. Availability depends on your address and which partners cover it.
Is it cheaper to order Chipotle delivery through the app?
Not in the way most people assume. Chipotle own checkout states that menu pricing for delivery is higher and that fees apply, so its own app is not sold at in-store prices either. Chipotle does not publish a comparison against partner apps, so the only reliable method is to price the same order in both and look at the total.
Who delivers Chipotle orders from the Chipotle app?
DoorDash. Chipotle own delivery FAQ states that it partners with DoorDash’s delivery team to fulfil delivery orders placed through its website and app, and its checkout page tells you that your phone number will be shared with the DoorDash driver.
Why is Chipotle more expensive on delivery?
Chipotle applies higher menu prices on delivery orders and adds fees on top. Its bag screen explains this directly as offsetting the costs of delivery. Chipotle has also acknowledged in its annual report that the delivery fee it collects can be less than the actual cost of delivery, and that it may raise menu prices on third-party platforms to cover the difference.
What do I do if my Chipotle delivery order is wrong?
It depends where you ordered. If you ordered through chipotle.com or the Chipotle app, Chipotle customer service handles it — chat with Pepper or call 1-800-CHIPOTLE. If you ordered through DoorDash, Uber Eats, Postmates or Grubhub, Chipotle directs you to contact that partner directly, because they hold the order.
Can I change a Chipotle delivery order after placing it?
No. Chipotle states plainly that it cannot accept modifications after delivery orders have been submitted, and that its delivery partners have the same policy. You may be able to cancel within a short window in the app and start again, which our cancellation guide covers.
Methodology
Ordering options, fees, pickup modes and app behaviour on this page are taken from Chipotle own ordering website and app, Chipotle published FAQs, Chipotle press releases and Chipotle SEC filings, all checked in October 2026. Where Chipotle current app wording contradicts an older published FAQ, the newer app wording is used and the discrepancy is noted. Chipotle does not publish delivery fee amounts or a refund policy, so this page says so rather than repeating third-party figures. Fees, menu pricing and availability vary by location and partner and change without notice.
